We start with talk therapy, your story, your journey; what do you want help with; what brings you here now?

While therapy is process work, we structure your therapy: you and I will work together to clearly define what the problems are and what solutions might help!

Ask yourself these questions:

What do you want to change?

We will discuss what brings you to therapy, what issues you want to work on, what your goals are. We examine your current life situation–work, friends, significant others, health, family–and talk about what is working and what you want help with.

How did you get here?

We review your personal history and family history. In standard clinical psychology, we understand that as we grew up, we made certain adaptations (developed psychological defenses, or coping styles) that helped us (psychodynamic approach.)
Are you using good strategies to create what you want?

In psychotherapy, we know that some of our childhood adaptations don’t serve us as well in our adult lives: We look into what they might be, and see if they still work for now (standard psychological approach.) Some of our coping strategies may be outside of our awareness (unconscious) and we bring them into our conscious awareness.

What are your thoughts and beliefs?

We also examine what thoughts and beliefs you have (cognitive approach.) We assess how those thoughts and beliefs impact your feelings and behaviors (cognitive-behavioral approach.)

Catherine’s Talk Therapy Success Story

Catherine came to therapy for anxiety and low self-esteem. We mapped out what types of anxiety she had, when in her life she started feeling anxious, and developed hypotheses about where her anxiety came from.

We explored what her self-view was and in what ways she had positive self-esteem and where she had low self-esteem. We reviewed what triggered her in her present life to feel anxious or bad about herself. We worked on her family of origin issues, explored what family dynamics created her anxiety and how she developed distorted and incorrect beliefs about herself.

She made progress with understanding, insight, and doing homework exercises (including journaling) and developed new behaviors in her daily life to lessen her anxiety and improve her self-esteem.

Together, we will create your roadmap for healing: what needs help, what you want to create, and how best to get you there

We will also see what techniques and tools have helped you in the past or are helping you now (like tools from any previous therapy, self-help books, 12 step programs, meditation apps) and incorporate them into your therapy.

We will also develop a sense of what your particular assets and unique skills or gifts you have as a person– because understanding who you really are is a key to happiness. (And if you don’t know what your gifts are yet, we will work on filling out that list.)

We develop a solid psychologically-based “diagnostic picture” of what is going on with you, what factors are involved, and what directions we need to go in—our map for your healing.

Marc’s Talk Therapy Success Story

Marc came to therapy because of depression and “feeling lost in life.” We helped him realize that he grew up in an alcoholic family and that there were patterns of behavior, co-dependency, poor communication, and blocks to intimacy that all contributed to his feeling depressed and “lost.”

Marc educated himself about alcoholic families, reading books and listening to Al-Anon type podcasts. He identified what was happening in his family and how it made him feel confused, sad, and stuck.

He was able to break out of his participation in many maladaptive behaviors, feel more positive in his mood and self-esteem, and find new clarity about his purpose in his life.

FAQs

A More Complete Therapy uses a holistic mix of therapy and energy healing tecniques to get powerful results. Some of my most commonly used methods include:

Yes I do offer Traditional Therapy. This is Talk Therapy and usually is for people who are new to therapy or only want to work on a specific issue for a shorter period of time, but I am open to exploring what your interests and needs are.

Yes, I do Telehealth!

Over years of initial research, Telehealth has been shown to be highly effective. During the times of mandated stay-at-home, it is the safest way to do therapy! I do Telehealth by phone, FaceTime, Zoom, and a therapy video service called Doxyme.

Not all of A Complete Therapy can be done via Telehealth but a good portion of it can.

We can do: Talk Therapy, Energy Healing, Spirituality, Soul level techniques, and Evolutionary Energetics. We can do components of Body Therapy and EMDR, remotely.

During the pandemic, we cannot do Neurofeedback in my office, but you could buy a Personal Home Neurofeedback system (and I can guide you through using it and help you incorporate its effects into your personal growth process.)

A More Complete Therapy is a private pay therapy — the fee is $250 per 60-minute session.

Most Complete Therapy sessions include Talk Therapy, Body Therapy, Energy Healing, NeurOptimal Neurofeedback, and Soul Plan Reading.

  • EMDR sessions are often 90 minutes long ($300) but can also be done in 60-minute sessions ($250.)
  • The fee for Soul Realignment readings by themselves is $600 but when done as part of a Complete Therapy Experience it is $250 (for the reading, clearing, and paper work) in addition to the $250 reporting session (90 minutes.) [During the times of the pandemic crisis, reduced rates are available.]

It is possible to come for my separate modalities, and not therapy:

  • If you come for just EMDR and not Complete Therapy, the fee is $250 for the 60 minute session and $300 for the 90 minute session.
  • If you come for Neurofeedback (and not therapy) the fee $200 per session or $150 per session when you buy a package of 10.
  • A Soul Plan Reading by itself (without therapy) is $400 and is a 90 minute reading.
  • A Soul Realignment Reading by itself (without therapy) is $600, and involves the practitioner doing the clearing separately from the feedback/reporting session (which takes 90 minutes.)

Yes.

I accept insurance for traditional Talk Therapy sessions. (They can include some meditation, breathing, relaxation techniques as they are also covered by insurance.) These sessions are 45 minutes. I am on most major insurance panels, including Aetna, Cigna, Emblem, United Health Care, Medicare, etc.
